Ok, this is in the lounge because it is pure fun and speculation My latest prediction for the San Diego office is that Kodak is going to repatriate or domesticate to the US a number of foreign resources after the division sales. The PI and DI sales will affect many of the foreign subsidiaries where many of them can no longer stand on their own. Some of the people will have a chance to go with the buyers. Some will be laid off. But Kodak will retain the “best and brightest” from their foreign subsidiaries. And where the law allows, EK will invite them to the US to work out of the San Diego office for a period of time until they can adjust to the USA and the new Kodak. They can stay in SD for the lease period and they can enjoy that until they are sent to Ohio, Rochester, etc. Points: - doc 3204 shows action; discuss domestication of foreign subsidiary (it's in there - hard to find) - December hiring of Law firm specializing in immigration - As Adrian points out, Antonio Perez is on the White House jobs planning committee and President Obama said in his State of the Union Speech that we should bring the best and brightest immigrants into the US to help us develop new technology - Some foreign money may be able to be repatriated in the process
