Lazard was compensated based on: 1. How quickly he could get a deal and, 2. The final sale price A deal has not been quick in coming here as well all know So why would Lazard not have moved on if the sale price was stationary? He'd be making big bucks elsewhere right now. IF it is worth Lazard's time and money, it is worth your time and money. PLEASE, offer me a logical rebuttal. You can't.

Lazard is weighing asset sales with or wothout the patents. who knows what the values will be

Mike,
Kodak may end up being dog shit BUT Lazard does NOT want its reputation tarnished by this debacle. I imagine Lazard has and will continue to do anything in their power to boost the finale sale numbers. However, Lazard cannot force people to bid. At this point, Lazard needs to save face for future ventures.

No he is not. It is all about results and translating those results quickly to BK emergence.
Probably to stave off another erosion in the stock price due to MICRO morons.
There is a lot of money to be made and Lazard has calculated due to experience that different packages can yield widely different results.
For example, I collect rare Atari games, among other things.
If I was to sell them on Ebay, even I would have a hard time knowing if selling them ala carte or together would be more profitable.
People might like the rarest items ala carte, but selling some other items together might give the package a critical mass that drives the price up.
Even I couldn't tell you what the best course would be for me to maximize my profits here.
There is a lot to go over, but what is key is that Lazard knows it is WORTH HIS TIME.

Well Lazard has been attempting to get the best deal for Kodak for quite some time, no?

If you'd read my analogy, you'd get it.
As they said, this is a "complex" and "evolving" process.
People could be bidding on one things and suddenly Samsung says, "What the heck, let's just tender an offer for the whole division plus the corresponding patents"
The ground is shifting constanly as the actors pursue their best interests and play these interests against the assets, their bankrolls, and one another.
Adam Smith could have never foreseen this kind of complex bargaining.

I hear what your saying. So you are okay with another delay, because you see it as a step in the right direction?

Yes.
Delays also infer regulatory needs have to be met, such as anti-trust examination and approval.
This has been more than hinted at.
A deal needs to be final before it is announced, if this was just a simple auction result at this point, we would know.

>>>"It's Game Time Now, why else bring in the new CFO"<<<
Most of the easy cuts were made by the OPERATING unit Executives, NOW there are many corporate cuts that must be accomplished, and the IR girl was simply not up to the task.
An entire new layer of corporate FAT is being sliced off, so Kodak can emerge from ch.11 as a LEAN, mean, PROFIT machine!!

Exactly, things are taking shape for asset sale now.
