It was CRYSTAL to me when I looked at the CORPORATE cost structure compared to the remaining businesses that will generate appx. $2.2 billion to $2.8 billion ( lower is core, higher includes commercial film and consumer printer) that a lot more costs had to be cut.
The interim CFO is KEY to accomplishing part of this job.
Getting rid of DEAD old management wood like Faraci should have happened years ago.
Perez is NEXT!
It does not really matter how much Kodak sells the DI patents for, Kodak MUST have a cost structure that is appropriate for its revenue base.
$1 billion, $2, billion, $3 billion, or more for the patents has NOTHING to do with cost structure of Kodak.
IF Kodak does NOT have realistic cost structure then they would just burn through the cash.
There are NO more sacred cows at Kodak anymore.
The BOD has put on their FULL METAL JACKETS.
If employees are NOT directly responsible for the well being and/or growth of the commercial print, functional print, and packaging, they will NOT be at Kodak long term.
The BOD knows a LOT more about the VALUE of Kodak shares than Kid/MORON!!!
The BOD has given the FINAL order: CUT until Kodak gushes PROFITS!!!

"Cut until Kodak gushes profits". Kodak has been doing this for 25 years. It has not worked yet and it's not the answer for their future either. Kodak made it's place in history by imagination and innovation, something which has been severly lacking for decades. They need to push product out the door to gush profits.
"It does not really matter what Kodak sells the ID patents for". Yes it does. They are in chapter 11 and need cash asap to satisfy their creditors. Time is not on your side in bk. They also figured their patents were worth about 2.5 billion. If they are not, they failed to understand their business, which would explain a lot. There are also many out there who were pumping the stock by saying the patents were going to bring in between 5 to 10 billion and the pps was going to $10. If that is not the case, then they do not understand the business either.

Kevin,
The village idiot on this board claims that we don't need a patent sale for the shareholders to avoid cancellation. In recent news, Peter Pan taught him to fly.

Admin,
I am sorry but I was just stating the facts. He said no patent sale=we survive. I guess I should have waited until after he got out of his insiders only board meeting with snow white and 7 dwarfs before I posted.

SBG, when kodak lays off 1000 people and saves 300 million how much cash do you think they have to spend to off load all these people?? 50 mil? If Kodak unloads many of their businesses does the pension liability decrease substantially? lets talk real issues

Here is the issue Kid: Is there going to be a patent sale before the por? Is there going to be a patent sale before common is wiped? Is the patent sale enough to keep common alive? KEY WORD: PATENT SALE.

2012,
Def the BOD/creditors are speaking. If there is any truth that Perez's head was on the chopping block then I imagine he has very little say at this point.

Here is the issue Kid: Is there going to be a patent sale before the por? Is there going to be a patent sale before common is wiped? Is the patent sale enough to keep common alive? KEY WORD: PATENT SALE. My gut feeling says Kodak might have sold SOME patents and retained others. No need to give them away cheap if they feel they can litigate and win a few billion from Apple. The 8 in dispute are obviously the most valuable and could NOT have been sold with an adversary proceeding still underway. Thats why Kodak has moved to sell assets instead, due to minimal auction proceeds(maybe a few hundred million). If Kodak can off load pension liabilities with each asset sale then that would be great. Not sure how that would unfold.

Careful Kid. When you use that m-o-r-o-n word in all caps in a condescending way you open yourself up for infringement litigation from a certain sue happy poster.
