According to the most recent popular mechanics, a Tesla with 160 mile battery range can be acquired for the reasonable price of $49,000...
Time to invest in Tesla?

Joe, If Pro is right on Kodak, not only will I buy him the Tesla I'll eat my shoe....... Love the Tesla. I was seriously thinking about getting a Tesla a couple years ago when I was hanging out with a few granola friends. Being a bit of a techy I thought I should participate in the electric car movement. I was recently given an job offer I couldn't refuse. The only problem is that I will be moving to a state that can snow pretty hard in some years. Tesla roadster and electric cars in general are not good in cold climates. The cold weather lowers battery capacity and being stuck in a snow storm in a tesla convertible with a dead battery could mean a very cold and dead arcticfox. My current plan is to get something robust like an X5 in time for this winter and use it as my daily commute vehicle. Then wait for Spring to get the M6 coupe as second car for going out on dinner dates etc.

They also can use warming blankets when charging. Not as big of an issue as you might think.

OMG, this is to funny!
Licking up to kid, who BTW, is to smart to fall for your shit (I think).
Who cares where you live, what you do, what kind of car you drive and your fantasies about dating? Has anyone ever told you that you are:
The person exaggerates talents, capacity and achievements in an unrealistic way. The person believes in his/her invulnerability or does not recognize his/her limitations. The person has grandiose fantasies. The person believes that he/she does not need other people. The person overexamines and downgrades other people, projects, statements, or dreams in an unrealistic manner. The person regards himself/herself as unique or special when compared to other people. The person regards himself/herself as generally superior to other people. The person behaves self-centeredly and/or self-referentially. The person behaves in a boastful or pretentious way.

I think you are a good fella. With some rational thinking and hard work, you should be able to get back on your feet again. I can't imagine that EK was the sole cause of your troubles but I'm sure it didn't help. All I can say is take one step at a time and don't let the stress pressure you into taking more gambles. I wish you the best of luck.

Yeah I think the Tesla does have some sophisticated temperature regulation mechanisms build in for the battery. But that car isn't ideal for snow or the cold. Being caught stranded in a blizzard while trying to get to the hospital in the middle of the night could literally mean a death sentence. I personally do not like SUVs. But I think it may be a necessity for where I am going. The guy whose practice I will be joining picked me up in a 911 turbo for dinner when I went out there for the recruitment interview. But he drives a Ram truck to the hospital everyday. That's his commute vehicle.

I'm so broke that I just went into McDonald's and put a small fry on layaway!
I'm so broke, the bank asked for their calendar back!
I'm so broke, if a trip around the world cost a nickel, I wouldn't have enough to leave the couch!
Someone saw me kicking a can down the street, and when asked what I was doing I said, "Moving."
