Bryce Bayer, who invented key digital camera technology, dies
Bryce Bayer, an Eastman Kodak research scientist who invented color filter array the Bayer Filter, a key technology now found in nearly every digital camera and camera phone, including current digital cameras used in film and television, died Nov. 13 in Bath, Maine. He was 83. Bayer retired from Kodak in the 1990s after spending his career at the company.
