This is an interesting article by Thomas Ewing, intellectual property counselor. It includes a detailed discussion of IP privateering, antitrust issues, and insider trading and market manipulation: hstlj.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/7-Ewing-TWO-109-158.pdfBy the way, Mr. Ewing is familiar with Kodak's IP portfolio. He had this to say in reference to Kodak's recent facial recognition patent: “If this patent (8,180,212) is what it seems, it would be a star patent in its (portfolio).” Why? Because of the patent's broad claims. The attributes of "broad claims" pertains to much of Kodak's DI technology. Definition of 'Broad' - protecting a whole concept that would be difficult for someone else to duplicate without infringing your patent.
