Please advise if you would be interested in joining another message board that would discuss and review the profit and risk associated with future stock opportunities.
ps It would be on Pro Boards , as well !

" Arctic's always been civil and I've respect for him. As for the other one? " ny " pro " has a unique ability to say foolish things with arrogance ! His voice would be welcomed because even as he was calling me a " MASSIVELY MYOPIC MORON " , his second rate comments made me analyze my own position more rigorously.

Well, I can easily see Arctic as being a major plus since he's never ever sugar-coated anything and let's face it. His batting average is beyond compare. The other one? Well, you did say "as long as they conducted themselves in a respectful manner". I've rarely known pro to be respectful...despite the fact it took him a year and half to finally call me a moron. Count me out...and here's wishing you all good fortune.

I will tell you that even though their slightly higher in assets than liabilities that their unsecured debt is trading at about 10 cents on the dollar and their secured debt is trading at about 50 cents on the dollar so the market is not optimistic about the shares future. In my opinion, smarter money would be to buy the SECURED debt a double your money in the next year-19 months (plus interest), and put 10-20% of what you put in the secured into the unsecured bonds as a gamble. A plus in that BK is that the secured bonds are actually trading (they were not trading in Kodak), and the bid and ask is very close (on the secured the bid/ask is .25 apart). That is my opinion

At this point I would rather take my future investment money and keep it out of the market.
I'm looking to put those funds to work in starting new partnerships and businesses where I might actually have some say in a matter and create jobs.
Up till now that's what I had done and it worked well for me and everyone involved.
I'd never regret losing money in a business effort but i regret losing it to the market.
Right now I have a friend looking to open a small diner.
I might go in with him.
I don't know yet, but I do know, I'm not eager to pick a new stock.

KB, there were a lot of substance behind your KKR buyout theory..
perhaps, no outsider even show interest was a bad sign.
how many a company like KKR not able to top 400MM for 85% of the new EK
Do you think that BlackStone was a bigger dog in this case? Pretty much had ask Henry to take a hike

as I said many times, KKR gave this bone to blackstone, you know KKR cannot have all the bones in the world... so the bigger dog sometimes let some bones go to a smaller dog... I figure he wasn't interested at all
musta studied it hard for two yrs while on board and said this is a turd
if there was a dollar to make on it i figure he would have
i'm sure KKR knows how to evaluate a company better than i do
so I assume I valued it incorrectly
and that he could foresee future problems with EK that I couldn't
or maybe he will buy now that it's out of bk and i put too much emphasis on the NOL's pre bk
In hindsight ( ain't it uh motherlover? ), I should not have hung my hat on a theory where it could lead me to zero.
I should find better theories.
Yeah, it made sense, but it didn't happen and it was an all or nothing bet.
I'm going to use any money that would have gone to wall st to help main street and hardworking people.
My talent lays there anyway.
and I know longer trust someone who can whip me with a pencil and where i am unable to question the books, blacked out info and deals for myself
I have plenty of other interest and now that this has come to an end I look forward to focusing on them more
I'm always interested in partnering with talented people so if anyone has idea outside the market, I'd be interested in those discussions.

"as I said many times, KKR gave this bone to blackstone, you know KKR cannot have all the bones in the world... so the bigger dog sometimes let some bones go to a smaller dog..."
Smaller dog will get some meet - KKr will pay for the debts.
But the whole animal would be eating by KKR.
