They may be trying to play nice. This new development makes me believe that Kodak could be putting together a massive licensing deal with Apple, Google, etc.... basically every company that was in the deal, like 25 companies. Remember NOT 1 company had a license for Tablets, so even if there was an existing license in place, they were NOT covered for tablets, so this could indeed be huge. Perhaps they will be bringing in north of 2 billion with this deal that is why they dropped the mandatory sale of the PI and DI businesses. Just another possibility. www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-12-18/samsung-says-it-will-drop-lawsuits-against-apple-in-europe.htmlSBG

Excerpt from the above article: "The withdrawal from legal action in those European countries was "unilateral and voluntary", the senior executive said. The person would not comment on whether out-of-court settlements talks were under way with Apple." IMO, It is not a coincidence that Mr. Roger Byrd (Nixon Peabody) was requested to come into these proceedings, Pro Hac Vice, at this time. He is here to close some type of deal (Joint Venutre/Merger/Buyout). He has been summoned to "close" the deal.

No idea if the events over here are connected to the events over there.
Samsung did just win a nice ruling from the judge who would NOT ban their products as Apple wanted them to.
This is very hard to figure out.
I hope it ends up in our favor.
