>>>"How much power would the Chief Restructuring Officer have in these types of situations? I would think he would have discretion over nearly everything."<<<
WRONG!
The BOD must make the BIG decisions BASED upon input from outside Advisers.
CLEARLY, the BOD has realized that the Perez's people could NOT get the job done.
Perez may have had a vision for Kodak that fit its CORE competency but much of the EXECUTION has been ABYSMAL.
MOST of the people that Perez brought in are INADEQUATE.
Perez is just an errand boy at this point.
The BOD needs somebody to be CEO, and it probably makes little sense for them to replace Perez at this time.
But, just like MANY medium to large companies, the CEO will announce that he is resigning sometime within the next year, and that a search has begun for a replacement.
I expect that the announcement about Perez's retirement will come in the next few months.
