Looks like it may just be an interview from what I am reading on the internet. Letterman and Led Zeppelin are receiving Kennedy honors so it looks like that is why they are in town. Who knows I think it ought to be awesome even if it is just an interview. I am sure the tour question will be asked.

I agree with the stones for sure yoda. Thats been my band since i was a teenager. I Can't believe that they are asking for over 800 a ticket though for the best seats in Brooklyn.

Seen rush 3 times once in radio city once at the garden and once at nassau . They were grat back then. Remember alex spinning round and round until he was tied up in guitar wire. They had the best light show back then.

The Beatles were great no doubt. But I personally see them more as a Pop Band than anything else.
BTW, any Floyd fans here? Another great group.

I've spent entire years of listening to (and studying) the Beatles. Floyd is great but I find their music to be somewhat more dated than the Beatles or Stones. I don't think The Dark Side of the Moon holds up as well as Abbey Road, Zeppelin IV or Exile on Main ST

I love the Beatles but I cannot be convinced that the are better than the strolling bones. Ten years for the Beatles 50 for the Stones. N0 dought what the Beatles accomplised in those 10 years and the impact it had was huge and had blown everybody away. The long haul I give to the Stones as the greatest rock band in history.

I don't buy into that. I'm not going to discredit everything the Stones did after Exile but there was clearly a steep decline.
What's truly amazing about the Beatles is the lack of filler in their albums. For the first few years, they were constantly touring and putting out 1-2 albums per year. All of those albums are on Rolling Stones top 500 list, with most of them within the top 100. They were writing songs in hotels and in cars.
Then they stopped touring and went on the most incredible productive streak ever. McCartney went from Here There and Everywhere to Penny Lane to Hey Jude To Let it Be to the Long and Winding Road. During this time, McCartney gave a song to Badfinger and told them not to change anything because it would be a #1 hit ... and it was of course. He was on such a roll at that time like no one has ever been before.
And sure, the Beatles' last album was in 1970... but after that we still had All Things Must Pass, Imagine, Band on the Run, Cloud 9, Plastic Ono Band, Tug of War, McCartney, Ram, Double Fantasy, Living in a Material World and Flaming Pie..... those albums are better than anything the Stones did after the 70's.

Anybody who did not catch Roger Waters on the current WALL tour needs to get their heads examined. This tour is now going on 3 years.

The problem I have with bands like Zeppelin and Rolling Stones is they have not really explored different genres...the Stones are the same as they were in 1970...Blues influenced rock...
The Beatles in 10 years went from Rockabilly, R&B influenced rock, and pop, to touch on country, folk, and pop on Rubber Soul, invented power pop, sunshine pop, and experimental music on Revolver, and then issued the genius of Sgt. Peppers where they invented prog-rock and art rock. In their short career, I would argue the Beatles singlehandedly covered or invented all the following genres of pop-rock
1. Rockabilly 2. Traditional Pop 3. 1960's R&B British invasion rock (The sound of Beatlemania) 4. Country ("Act Naturally" with Ringo!) 5. Folk-Rock 6. Experimental (#9) 7. Psychedelic 8. Sunshine Pop 9. Art Rock 10. Heavy Metal 11. Blues Rock 12. British Music Hall (Basically the kind of Music their parents grew up on..."Your Mother Should Know" 13. American Roots Music (Rocky Raccoon) 14. Progressive Rock
...and many more...
I will never get tired of the Beatles because they were endlessly creative and explored ( and in some cases invented) all these genres of pop/rock.

Look the thing that the stones did was live up to their names touring like crazy and staying together. Wild hoses, heartbreaker, sympathy for the devil, ruby tuesday, tumbling dice, you can't always get what you want, honky tonk women, brown sugar, satisfaction , it's only rock and roll the list goes on and on we could sit here for hours and not be able to covince each other. Thank you Great Britan for the music.

It is amazing how much music a fairly small island could produce... All the way from 60's British Invasion to 70's Progressive Rock to 80's New Wave and of course the Spice Girls! JK

I tried out Satanic Majesties but I thought Pepper was way better. I think the Stones have a few albums better than Majesties, but none better than Pepper
